Families peacefully living their traditional lives inhabit each homestead at Lesedi. Four additional huts for each village have been constructed in each homestead offering the unique opportunity of staying with a traditional rural African family - however, all home comforts have been catered for including cozy beds and beautiful bathrooms with showers, hot and cold running water and flushing toilets.
GUEST ROOMS: 16 guestrooms, with twin beds, 4 of which are situated in each of the traditional villages, and built in the style of each tribe, but furnished for modern comfort. Adjacent private bathrooms for each room, equipped with showers and all modern conveniences.
ACTIVITIES: The Monati (lunch) and Boma (dinner) cultural experiences are two and a half-hour programs starting at 11.30 a.m. and 16.30 p.m. respectively. A traditional welcome by the multi-cultural inhabitants of Lesedi starts the experience folowed by a guided tour through the four 'Umuzis' (homesteads) and an exciting Tribal Dance display, before participating in the 'Pan African Feast' incorporating ethnic dishes from South, East and North Africa.
FACILITIES: A superbly decorated restaurant where an exotic buffet serving ethnic dishes and a carvery may be enjoyed. A pub is situated next to the restaurant where overnight guests may relax. Breakfast is served in the restaurant. A fully equipped conference center is available.
Lesedi is a multi-cultural village set amongst the pristine bushveld and rocky hills of the Magaliesberg close to the Hartbeespoort Dam and less than an houršs drive north of Jo'burg. Situated at Lesedi are four traditional homesteads - The Zulus with their fighting sticks and cozy beehive huts, The Xhosa with their perfectly thatched rondawels and distinctive white blankets, the rhythmic drums and whistles of The Pedi tribe and the conical straw hats and thick, colored blankets of The Basotho.
